- Converting Database
Note: In these answers we will follow a few
shorthand conventions for describing user-interface procedures. Key combinations will be
presented like this: Ctrl+Alt+Delete, which means that you should press and hold down the
Control key, the Alt key, and the Delete key at the same time. Menu selections will be
presented like this: File->Open, which means that you should open the File menu, and
then make the Open selection.
- How to Convert a Database... ?
It is important to know that even though you can add and delete data
in Microsoft Access it is not possible to change the design of the object in the database.
The best way to do this is to create new objects and change the features before you
convert your database. Also, before converting a database make sure that you have a backup
copy of your database. You can only modify a database form the earlier to a later
version format. The following are the step to convert database.

- Make your you have the backup copy.
- Make sure that all the links and tables are in appropriate folders.
- Close the database you are trying to convert.
- Choose TOOLS ->Database UTILITIES-> CONVERT Database. A Convert Form dialog
box will appear.
- Specify which file name the database is located and Press Convert button. A Convert
Into dialog box will appear.
- Choose the name of the database file and the drive it is at from the drop down menu
that the dialog box have at the top center.
- Select Save button.
