After the recruiter receive you resume
and cover letter and found you interesting, they will setup an interview. Often the
interview will begin by telling you about the company, then the department, and then the
position in which you are interviewing for. It is important to know a few things about the
company, and the position in which you are applying. Since the interview is the final step
in screen testing you, be attentive and ready, for getting hired completely depends on the
impression you provide at that point.
There are two way the questions for the
interview may be presented: structural and unstructured. Which ever way the interview is
comes, make sure to stay focused and give a detail response appropriate to the question.
It is better to take a moment to answer the question than respond an answer that in not
appropriate to the question.
Structural interview is when the
interviewer has a question prepared and asks you the questions from his notes. This kind
of interviews are the one that you can prepare yourself for. When you answer these
questions try to focus only on the questions. Try not to give additional information that
is not asked for, unless the question is a general question like "Tell me about
yourself?"
Unstructured interview
is when the interviewer asks you questions about your background and from there asks you
questions depending on the conversation. These leading kinds of interview are usually
setup in order for the individual to talk about their goal, experience, and background.
At the end of the interview the recruiter
usually asks you if you have any questions. Always have question prepare to ask. It is
important that you have a few questions to ask. Most recruiters expect to be asked a
question. That shows that you are interested in the company and would like to know more
about them.
